Acting Up! provides programs for kids and teens year round. Our Spring and Fall Workshops are once a week acting classes, in which students learn theater terminology, stage directions, elements of story and character, improvisation techniques, and voice in a safe, nurturing environment. At the end of the workshop the students will all take part in a final presentation on the Sierra Madre Playhouse stage free for friends and family.
Acting Up! also offers two intensive programs where all students experience the thrill of working together to perform a fully produced show, including professionally designed costumes, lights and set. Our winter intensive is held in January and February 2 or 3 afternoons a week. Our 3-week summer camp is in July and August and runs Monday through Friday from 9:00-3:00 each day. Both our Winter Intensive and our Summer Camp culminate in a main-stage production at the Sierra Madre Playhouse and ticket purchase is open to the public.
